HOW TO SET UP WOOCOMMERCE SQUARE PAYMENT SETTINGS (A Step-by-Step Guide)

PART ONE: SETTING UP SANDBOX API FOR TEST TRANSACTIONS

STEP #1: Start by setting up your Sandbox API. Log into your Squareup account to access Sandbox and view test transactions.

STEP #2: Navigate to My Apps.

STEP #3: Click on "New Application" to kick off a new one.

STEP #4: Name your application and hit "Create Application."

STEP #5: Your sandbox mode is now active! Copy your App ID and Access token.

STEP #6: Input your sandbox credentials into WooSquare and click Authorize. You should see a success message at the top.

STEP #7: Choose your store’s location and save your changes.

STEP #8: Now that you’re connected, configure your Square payment settings.

• Enable/Disable: Check "Enable" to activate Square as a payment option.
• Title: Show customers a title during checkout.
• Description: Share info about payments via Square.
• Delay Capture: Pre-authorize charges for later capture.
• Create Customer: Build customer profiles on Square with each checkout.
• Log Debug Messages: Keep track of debug messages in WooCommerce System Status log.
• Send Customer Info: Send customer names with orders to Square.

STEP #9: In your left panel, click WooCommerce, navigate to settings, and select checkout.

STEP #10: Verify that "Credit Card (Square)" is enabled in payment gateways and save.

Important: Once you save, you’ll see, "Your settings have been saved."

THE FINAL STEP FOR PART ONE

STEP #11: Open your site from the frontend, select a product, and proceed to checkout. You should now see "Credit Card (Square)" as a payment method.

PART TWO: SANDBOX TRANSACTION

STEP #1: Here are the details to test an order in WooCommerce using Sandbox.

STEP #2: You’ll see the sandbox transaction in Square’s Dashboard.
